WHAT IS A KAT?

KAT 2025 is a competition that inspires young people in Kazakhstan to study rocket science, aviation and aerospace technologies. Participants will be able to develop and launch models of rockets, work on scientific projects and gain knowledge from experts.

The KAT Competition Regulation regulates engineering competitions for teams involved in developing and launching rocket models. Participants design rockets, develop rescue systems, prepare and launch models according to international standards, and prepare technical documentation. The document specifies the rules of participation, evaluation criteria, terms and conditions of awarding.

MLV – Model Launch Vehicles
Age: 14–21 years
Goal: Development and launch of a reusable launch vehicle.
Rocket models for the duration of the flight with a payload.

Age: 14–21 years
Goal: Maximize the flight time of the rocket with a parachute.
